I’m the Ozarks Maven – a technological dinosaur.

Modern technology is wonderful as long it functions properly. I’m not the most technologically savvy person in the world. In fact, I’ve been called a techno dinosaur. I often struggle with my cell phone and computer. If I didn’t have young adult step-children and a good friend who can fix anything at work, I would still be carrying a flip phone.

I had a smart phone that I dearly loved. Unfortunately, it was a model that had a manufacturing defect. The defect caused the phone to go into boot mode and get stuck, which rendered it useless. It was only four years old. The company wouldn’t warranty my phone because I purchased it from an individual, but they would have covered it if I had bought it from a carrier.

I purchased another phone from a brick and mortar retailer because I was leaving town the day after my beloved phone died and didn’t have time to wait for one to be ordered. It’s been a couple months, and I’m still learning how to use my new phone. My friend at work has come to expect my little difficulties.

I think I’m one of those old souls who belong in another time. I’m computer literate, but I struggle every time there’s a change or update. My work computer was recently replaced with a new machine, and I’ve been learning Windows 10. I’ve been using Windows 7 for years, so this has been a huge adjustment.

I’ve been fighting some sort of error here on Ozarks Maven. I don’t know if any of you have experienced this problem, but I’ve been receiving an error when I try access Ozarks Maven from Facebook saying that my site has a security certificate issue. My security is current, and I’ve contacted my customer support team. I’m awaiting an answer from the experts. I hope to have the problem rectified soon. Please don’t give up on me.

I may be a technological dinosaur, but I think that’s what makes me a great Ozarks Maven.
